Message of the Founder & Chairman

The long cherished dream and desire of the cross section people of Amabar Nagar and Kutubpur Union of Begumgonj in the district of Noakhali as well as neighbouring areas came into being when classes of HSC level commenced in the newly established M A Hashem College in 1998. We are grateful to Almighty Allah and thankful to the local intelligentsia that our long-cherished desire ultimately came true.

Initially the college started its academic activities with Science, Humanities and Business Studies Groups at the HSC level with 44 students. At present the college offers Degree (both Pass and Honours course) in different subjects along with Intermediate section. At the moment there are 2031 male and female students and a set of 36 very competent, experienced and highly dedicated teachers having degrees from renowned universities of the country. The college is considered to be a big blessing for the underprivileged community and particularly for the female students of the locality aspirant for higher studies.

PARTEX GROUP has been shouldering the sole responsibilities of establishing and running the college. Starting from purchase of 22 bighas of land, building structures of approx. 50,000 sq feet, providing all kinds of class and office furniture, paying teacher-staff salary, procuring all laboratory equipments and books for library etc.-all have been funded by the PARTEX GROUP. In order to assist, encourage and retain the meritorious and needy students lump sum financial help from the college poor fund is being provided every year.

A master Plan for diversification of education in different modern and job-oriented courses has been chalked out which includes construction of buildings for accommodating teachers, students and introduction of new faculties in Honours and Masters level. Due to our pragmatic plan and programme, within a short span of time, the college has been recognized as one of the best colleges in greater Noakhali. Its academic performance, extra- curricular activities and congenial academic environment all combined to achieve this status. Our ultimate aim is to establish a greater institution to usher in quality education at a minimum cost. It’s a pleasure for me to announce that in line with the Govt. policy to set up rural-based universities we are actively working to upgrade M A Hashem College into M A Hashem University.
